“A journey of a thousand miles begins with one simple step.” Lao Tzu
Dr. Tania Rojas attended Azusa Pacific University, where she obtained a Master’s Degree, and subsequently, a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology, in 2009. Dr. Rojas’ educational and professional training have emphasized a systematic thinking approach, focusing on diversity, including the integration of faith and spirituality. The discipline of systems (family) psychology, focuses on the dynamic interaction between an individual and the various systems to which they belong. Dr. Rojas’ approach incorporates a biopsychosocial model, working from the innermost systems (biological/neurological realms), to the center systems (intrapsychic/inter-personal realms), to the outermost systems (social/spiritual realms). Treatment strategies are important in every level in order to heal comprehensively.
As a holistic therapist, Dr. Rojas guides clients to understand their existential concerns and motivates them to create a life with purpose, meaning, and intentionality. Dr. Rojas considers it a privilege to walk with her clients, through their life journeys, as they face challenges, and as they succeed in creating a balanced sense of self. Among the many goals of therapy, an ever -present goal, is to intentionally regulate thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, through the implementation of newly acquired psychological strategies. Change and challenges are inevitable for all human beings; how we navigated those changes and challenges, affects our mental health and well-being.
Dr. Rojas is a multicultural and bilingual therapist, who has been trained in a variety of evidenced-based practices, such as Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Functional Family Therapy, parenting programs such as Incredible Years, etc. Diverse professional training has opened the doors to be able to work with a wide range of clients, carrying in ages and symptomatology. There are many healing strategies that can be geared to the specific needs of every client; these can help expand awareness, mindfulness, and consciousness, in order to achieve clients’ goals.
